International Chamber Ensemble of Rome »
The Virginia Waring International Piano Competition [VWIPC] was pleased and proud to announce that after more than 16 years of association of mutual respect and esteem, the International Chamber Ensemble of Rome [the Orchestra], conducted by Maestro Francesco Carotenuto, was our Orchestra-in-Residence for the 2005 Senior Concerto Competition. This highly respected group of musicians have presented first place winners from the last five events in concert with the Orchestra in Rome to enthusiastic supportive audiences. Maestro Carotenuto has been a valuable member of our judging staff and member of the Honorary Artistic Committee of the VWIPC.
This "union" brought a long needed quality component to our selection of concerto winners, in addition to master class opportunities in Orchestral performance and Conducting with Maestro Carotenuto and the Orchestra. With this single addition, our 2005 Competition was greatly enhanced and provided a magnificent sold out Winners' Concert for the greater cultural enjoyment of our area.
